  Individuals suffering from the debilitating effects of periodontal disease now have a non surgical choice for treatment from Dr. Koeppel in the form of an FDA approved treatment developed by PerioProtect. A custom tray device, similar to a teeth bleaching tray, is filled with a proprietary medication product and placed over the teeth. Antimicrobial agents are delivered efficiently to the areas of needed treatment.
  
  Once started, patients administer the medications in the comfort of their own home. Using this unique product, the patient now has control over treatment and can self administer the antibiotics at a much lower cost.
  
  

• Arestin: Periodontal Disease Treatment Option

  Arestin is an antibiotic, minocycline, which is a member of the tetracycyine class of antibiotics. Dr. Koeppel provides FDA approved Arestin antibiotic treatments as an adjunct or minimally invasive treatment choice for controlling or eliminating various degrees of gum disese.
  
  Minocycline exerts its antimicrobial activity by prohibiting ptotein synthesis of the bacteria and has been shown to be effective against the pathogens associated with periodontal disease. Arestin is a powder that is blown into the pockets with a special syringe (plastic tube, not a needle). It maintains its therapeutic drug concentration for up to 21 days of administration.
  
  

• Hydro Floss - Gum Disease Treatment Adjunct
